Cobblers supporter Matthew Warwick, 28, overdid the celebrations after his team beat Portsmouth, in May this year, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard, landing himself with a 10-month community order.

Anne Crossfield, prosecuting, said the defendant was “very drunk” before boarding a train from Portsmouth to Waterloo after the match and began to play a lewd “game” with fellow passengers, where he asked them to identify a private part of his anatomy.

Ms Crossfield said: “The defendant said he was very drunk when he boarded the train.

“There were two women sat near, one elderly and one younger.

“A witness said she saw the young female and elderly female get up to leave as the train approached the station.

“The defendant then got up and walked towards them.

“He had taken his penis out and was waving it around.

“He was asking them ‘do you want to look’? and ‘do you want to touch it’?

“The elderly woman shouted she wanted to get off the train and they did so.

“He then returned to his friends.”

Warwick told officers he had no recollection of exposing himself, but remembered getting into the luggage area.

Ms Crossfield explained that Warwick, of St Michaels Lane, Wollaston, was playing a game with his friends where a man shows a part of either his testicles or penis where he then asked people to guess which part it was.

The court heard Warwick had been identified by one of the women who saw the incident at Waterloo station.

Ms Crossfield added: “She was scared to go on train, but pointed to him on the platform.”

Freya Colvin, defending, said Warwick was a father-to-be, and the incident was out of character.

She said: “The level of alcohol involved goes to show how out of character this was.

“It was, albeit serious, a very stupid one-off.

“He hasn’t drunk for a month.”

Judge Nicholas Watton handed Warwick a 10-month community order, requiring him to perform 140 hours of unpaid work.

He said: “There is no one to blame but yourself.

“Your behaviour alarmed, frightened and distressed people in this very public place.

“I’m going to treat this as a one-off.”

Warwick must also pay costs of £85, and a victim surcharge of £85.
