Driver survives after car flips upside down in M1 crash

A driver is ‘lucky to be alive’ after his car overturned off the M1 northbound last night.

The green-coloured car had travelled over the motorway barrier, flipped onto its roof and trapped the driver inside.

Firefighters rescued the man, who was injured, at around 11.30pm.

He had crashed between junction 14 (Milton Keynes) and the Newport Pagnell Service Area.

Thames Valley Police officers who were helping fire crews recover the vehicle said the driver was “very lucky to survive”.
