The driver of a pick-up truck has died following a crash on a country lane near Northampton last week.

Two men were rushed to hospital with serious injuries after the Nissan Navara left the road in Ecton Lane, Sywell, on Sunday (April 26).

Northamptonshire Police have now revealed the driver, a 25-year-old man, has now died as a result of his injuries and admit they are still puzzled over what caused the crash,

A police spokesman said: "A grey Nissan Nivara driving south along Ecton Lane from Sywell left the road for reasons not yet known and collided with a stone wall at about 8.05pm on April 26.

"As a result of the single vehicle collision, two men, aged 25 and 22, sustained serious injuries. Sadly, the 25-year-old driver has now died as a result of his injuries.

"We are still keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage of the vehicle travelling on Ecton Lane or who may have witnessed the incident.
