Police investigating an assault on a woman in Corby have released an e-fit image of the suspect.

The assault happened between 9.30am and 9.45am on Friday, October 14, near the garages in Tollgate Place, just off Weldon Road.

A police spokesman said: “As the victim was walking by, a man asked her for money.

“After refusing, she continued walking, at which point the man rugby-tackled her to the floor.

“She managed to fight him off and run away.”

The suspect is described as white, in his mid to late 40s, about 6ft, with skinny hands, a slim face and a grey, malnourished-looking and pitted complexion.

He was wearing a baseball cap, black puffa jacket, black chunky trainers and light blue jeans that were frayed at the bottom and had a rip in the right leg.
