A man suffered a fractured eye socket after being repeatedly kicked in the face in a violent assault in Daventry.

Northamptonshire Police say the victim, in his 40s, was walking on Badby Road when he was shoved over from behind. He also suffered multiple facial injuries and a loss of memory in the attack.

A spokesman for the force said: "The incident happened on Friday, March 6, between 7pm and 9pm. The man was walking along Badby Road, between Kingsley Avenue and The Slade, when he was pushed over from behind and repeatedly kicked to the face.

"We are asking for anyone who may have witnessesed the attack or may have information about it to call us on 101 quoting incident number: 20000133122."
