Van driver suspected of fly-tipping in another county arrested in Northampton
The van was full of scrap and had no insurance
A van driver was arrested in Northampton yesterday afternoon after officers found that the vehicle was uninsured (April 14).
A police officer was on patrol in an unmarked vehicle when an automatic number plate recognition camera was activated in Kingsthorpe.
The van had a marker placed on it because it had allegedly been seen to be involved with fly-tipping offences in another county.
The van was followed for a short distance by the unmarked police car before being stopped.
The police officer, upon investigating the van, found that it was full of scrap and had no insurance.
The van was subsequently seized and the driver was reported.
