Uninsured car seized after 'unsupervised provisional licence holder drove it very slowly' on dual carriageway in Northampton
He told police he would "sort it tomorrow"
A car was seized after the driver was caught by police without a licence or insurance on the A45 in Northampton.
The driver was stopped by officers on the Great Billing Way at around midnight yesterday (April 22) and roadside checks revealed that the man was driving unsupervised with only a provisional driving licence and without insurance, police said.
The man was reported for both offences and his vehicle was promptly seized by police.
The Northants Road Crime Team said on Twitter: "This vehicle has been stopped after it was seen driving very slowly on the A45 #Northampton Driver has a provisional licence & uninsured.... He said he would sort it tomorrow! We agree, but we’ll hold on to it until they sort it."
Just over a week ago, police seized a woman's car in Kettering after she was caught driving with only a provisional driving licence and without insurance. She defended herself to police by telling them her friend said she is a 'good driver'.
