Two men stabbed as ‘large group of men’ seen fighting in Northampton

A fight that broke out last night resulted in two men being stabbed, Northamptonshire Police has confirmed.

Police were called to the brawl in Cowper Street at around 6pm yesterday (April 20).

A cordon was in place for most of the evening on the street between Kettering Road and Shakespeare Road.The two victims who were stabbed during the incident were taken to hospital, where they both remain in stable conditions.

A further three men have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and they remain in police custody.

A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said: “The incident happened at about 6pm, when a large group of men were seen to be fighting near Costcutter, resulting in two men being stabbed.

“A 32 year-old man, a 34-year-old man and a 35-year-old man have all been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent in connection with the incident and remain in police custody at this time.”
