Two men arrested for stealing a moped after police chase in Kings Heath

Two men were arrested following a police chase after a moped was reported as stolen from outside a property in Henry Bird Way at around 12.45pm.

Officers and PD Ebby were deployed and the Honda GLR 125 was located in the Kings Heath area of Northampton. It failed to stop for police, which sparked a police pursuit.

Two men were eventually stopped and arrested after trying to escape on foot and being found attempting to hide in gardens.

Jordan Lewis Jones, 22, of Swale Drive, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, using a motor vehicle without insurance, driving otherwise in accordance with a license and failing to stop for police.

He will appear in Northampton Magistrates’ Court on January 12.

The second offender, a 16-year-old boy, was also charged with theft of a motor vehicle and being carried in a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.

He will appear before magistrates on May 6.
