Two men have admitted being part of a road rage incident in Northamptonshire.

Scott Richardson, aged 27, of East Street, Irchester, has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving after he chased after a driver who had got out of his vehicle and confronted him in Wilby Way, near Wellingborough.

Northampton Crown Court heard Richardson was driving a Honda Civic when a Mercedes Sprinter van pulled in front of him an stopped.

The van driver, Ryan Maloney, aged 29, got out of his vehicle and then confronted Richardson.

Dominic Woolard, prosecuting, said, after Maloney had got back in his vehicle, Richardson chased Maloney’s van along a number of roads including Wilby Way and Northampton Road and forced him into a series of dangerous manoeuvres such as driving on the wrong side of the carriageway.

Maloney, of Furzton, Milton Keynes, pleaded guilty to using threatening words or behaviour.

Both men will be sentenced next month.
