A traveller encampment has set up at a supermarket car park in Northampton.

Around six caravans and their accompanying vehicles were parked at the Aldi car park in Sixfields on Thursday night (August 20).

West Northamptonshire Council has confirmed it is aware of the encampment.

A WNC spokesperson said: “We are aware of the encampment. Colleagues from the Northamptonshire Traveller Unit are assessing the situation in line with established processes. At this stage, it would not be appropriate for the Council to comment further.”
