In each incident two men entered a shop and threatened staff with weapons before making off with cash and alcohol or cigarettes. Due to the similarities, police are now linking the incidents.

Detective Inspector Hayley Thurston, from Northamptonshire Police, said: “We are in the early days of investigating these incidents but due to the similarities in what has happened we are linking them.

“We’re urging shop workers to remain vigilant, especially at the start and end of each day, and to please report any suspicious behaviour to us.

“No one has received injuries during these incidents, but people have been left shaken by what has happened.”

A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman added: “The suspects in all three incidents are described as white men aged in their 20s or 30s and wearing dark coloured clothing. In each instance one of the men was carrying a motorcycle helmet while the other wore a face covering.”

Officers now want to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage or who can identify the offenders.

Witnesses to this incident or anyone with information are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number: 25000735192.
