Three men in custody following early morning burglary at Northampton Tesco

The incident relates to a break-in at Tesco Express in Coppice Drive, Parklands, at about 1am

Three men are in custody following an incident in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, April 30).

Police officers located the suspects in Great Meadow where they were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary.

The men, aged 25, 25, and 30, remain in police custody at this time.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee McBride, said: “We know there are a few concerns from members of the public after the incident in Great Meadow last night so I would like reassure everyone that no firearms were discharged during this incident, from either the suspects or the police officers involved in the pursuit.

“Our response last night was very fast and well-organised, resulting in these three men being arrested.

“Patrols will be taking place in the Great Meadow area today to offer reassurance to the community.

“If you see any officers on your daily exercise, please don’t hesitate to have a chat with them if you have any concerns.”
