Police have charged three Northampton men with following an incident at a local Tesco Express in the early hours of Thursday morning (April 30).

Otis William Barrett, 25, of Banbury Close, Terrance Mark Brown, 25, of Glebeland Road, and Matthew Lawrence Brown, 30, of Crow Lane, all appeared at Northampton Magistrates' Court on conspiracy to commit burglary charges today (Monday May 4).

They were remanded to appear at Northampton Crown Court on June 3.

Officers were called to the store in Coppice Drive, Parklands, close to the junction of Kettering Road and Spinney Hill Road, at around 1am on Thursday and located three suspects in nearby Great Meadow.

Police are making extra patrols in the area to reassure local residents.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee McBride, said: “We know there have been a few concerns from members of the public after the incident in Great Meadow so I would like reassure everyone that no firearms were discharged during this incident, from either the suspects or the police officers involved in the pursuit.

“Our response on the night was very fast and well-organised, resulting in these three men being arrested.

“Patrols will be taking place in the Great Meadow area to offer reassurance to the community.

“If you see any officers on your daily exercise, please don’t hesitate to have a chat with them if you have any concerns.”
