Three arrests made after suspects flee scene of Northampton fight where baseball bat used as weapon

Three men have been arrested following a street fight where a baseball bat was used as a weapon.

The incident happened yesterday (July 7) at about 8.30pm outside the One Stop Shop in Glasdstone Road.

Four men were fighting outside the shop and had various weapons including a baseball bat.

The men then fled the scene in two vehicles.

One of the vehicles was located a short time later in Stockmead Road, Standens Barn, and a 32-year-old man from Northampton was arrested on suspicion of affray.

The second vehicle was located at about 10pm at the Tesco service station in Wellinborough Road.

A 43-year-old man from Northampton was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a firearm, and a 28-year-old man from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm, possession of a class A drug and affray.

All three men remain in in police custody.

Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for witnesses to the incident and would like to hear from anyone who was in the Gladstone Road area or may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident or the people and vehicles involved.
