Thieves got away with a nearly-new Volkswagen Golf after stealing keys from house in Northampton in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Detectives are still searching for the vehicle and also want to find the driver of a while Audi Q7 which was spotted acting suspiciously in the area.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "This incident happened on March 22, between 3.50am and 4.40am when the offender or offenders smashed a front door panel at a property in Ryeland Road, Duston.

"They stole car keys and made off with a Volkswagen Golf with a registration number MA19 ZJK in the direction of Wrenbury Road.

"A white Audi Q7 was seen acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the offence.
