Brazen thieves made off with a £3,000 ride-on lawn mower in broad daylight after forcing their way into a garage in a South Northamptonshire village.

Two men loaded the mower onto a white Renault van before heading off down country lanes from Whiston.

lA spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "Two men in a white Renault van stole a £3,000 John Deere ride-on lawn mower after breaking the lock to gain entry to a garage at the address between 1.50pm and 2pm on Monday, March 2.

"Officers investigating the incident believe these men may have information which could assist with their enquiries, and are appealing for them or anyone who may recognise them, to get in touch.

"Alternatively, anyone with information or who may have witnessed this incident please call us on 101 quoting reference number 20000120130."
