Thieves stole gold jewellery and a match programme from the 1966 World Cup final after breaking into an elderly victim's property.

Detectives are appealing for information over the burglary in Northampton in early-March.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "Between 30 and 40 9ct gold rings and the 1966 World Cup final programme from the property in Limehurst Square, Duston, at around 8pm on Tuesday March 3.

"We are asking anyone who may have information or who may have witnessed this incident call us on 101 quoting reference number 20000122284."
