Thief nicks hi-vis jacket to carry off stolen laptops on busy Northampton road

A brazen thief walked off down a busy Northampton road carrying two stolen laptops and a small safe wearing a high-vis coat following a break-in last week.

Detectives say the thief used scaffolding to get into a property in Kettering Road North between 1pm and 1.20pm on Thursday (April 29).

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "Items including two laptops and a small safe were taken before the man left on foot, walking along Kettering Road North towards Northampton town centre.

"He is described as a white man in his 20s with short dark hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top when he entered the property — and wore a hi-vis coat on the way out.

"When he left, he had a white carrier bag."

Anyone who saw the incident or has information about it is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 using incident number 21000235266.
