A second person has been arrested in connection with two shooting incidents in Wellingborough.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested this morning (Monday, September 21) in connection with the two incidents.

The first incident happened at about 10.30pm on Thursday, September 17, at an address in Shelley Road on the Queensway estate.

The second happened at an address in Gannet Lane in the Hemmingwell estate. Firearms officers were called just before 1am on Saturday, September 19 after reports of gunshots being heard.

There was gunshot damage to the front door of the property. Nobody was hurt in the incidents, but a number of people have been safeguarded.

Police arrested a 35-year-old man on Saturday, who has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The 17-year-old boy arrested this morning and remains in police custody.

Extra police patrols and house-to-house enquiries are taking place in the area to reassure the community.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the times of both incidents to contact them.
