A teenage boy sustained a large cut to the head after he was attacked with a metal pole as he walked towards the Goldings area of Northampton.

The attack took place between 1pm and 3pm on Saturday, April 10 when the victim was approached by two men as he reached the underpass at the junction of Blackthorn Road and Vicarage Farm Drive.

The boy was then struck to the head with a metal pole, causing a large gash. He managed to run away to safety.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: "The offenders were aged about 17-years-old and wearing hoodies and face coverings.

"Witnesses or anyone with information which could assist the investigation are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 quoting reference number 21000196955 or, alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
