Schoolboy, 13, arrested on suspicion of GBH after Northampton man is attacked with lump of wood

A 13-year-old schoolboy is being held on suspicion of causing grievious bodily harm after a brutal attack in Northampton last night.
Detectives investigating the incident revealed a man in his late 20s was assaulted by two other males at about 6pm in Avon Drive, in the Kings Heath area of the town.

Hide AdThe victim was battered on the head with a lump of wood and rushed to hospital with lacerations and a suspected broken shoulder.
A Northamptonshire Police spokesman confirmed: "A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing GBH with intent in connection with this incident and remains in police custody at this time.
"A 20-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and she is also currently in police custody."
Police also seized a red Fiat Punto which was used to try to flee the scene.
