Police investigating the death of a man on the Racecourse in Northampton today, Tuesday, have moved to reassure people living in the area.

Superintendent Kevin Mulligan, local policing area commander (West) Northamptonshire, posted a video earlier this evening outlining the details of the investigation.

As the Chronicle & Echo reported earlier today, a 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a man near the Racecourse this morning."We can say, categorically, that incidents like this are rare and we get, very very few.

"Officers from the Neighbourhood teams are visiting the community groups and residents to give them the reassurance that we will remain here and work with them and reassure them this is a one-off event," he said.
