A primary school in Northampton has issued a statement following an incident where a ‘student brought in a knife’.
Rectory Farm Primary School has issued a public statement regarding the incident, which took place on Thursday November 6.
Becca Williams, Executive Headteacher, said: “The incident was immediately dealt with by school leaders in consultation with the police and Northampton Primary Academy Trust central team.
"All parents were immediately notified that day, and key stage two classes were given the opportunity to speak with their executive headteacher, who reassured them that the school remains a safe place to learn.

"Parents and the community can have confidence that, whilst no-one was physically harmed, we take incidents of this nature extremely seriously and the highest level of action has been taken.
“Senior staff have since spoken with parents before and after-school in the playground and continue to remain available for any parent who wants to discuss their concerns.
"As this incident involved children, we are of course duty-bound to maintain strict confidentiality and cannot release any further detail.”
A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said: “We did attend this incident and the knife was seized. No arrests and no injuries reported. A referral has been made to the Early Intervention Team.”
