Porsche driver's £2,100 bill for clocking 113mph on the M1 in Northamptonshire

A 63-year-old has been ordered to pay more than £2,100 but kept his licence after being caught doing 113mph in his Porsche on the M1 in Northamptonshire.

Magistrates were told automatic cameras recorded Peter Henry Tolen's car at 43mph over the limit on a stretch of the southbound carriageway between Junction 18 and Junction 17 in May last year.

The defendant, whose address was given as City of Westminster, pleaded guilty at a previous hearing but the case was delayed by lockdown after magistrates adjourned it to consider disqualifcation.

Mr Tolen was fined £1,900 plus costs and surcharges of £255 and had six points on his licence.
