A Porsche driver landed a whopping £1,600 bill after being caught speeding at over 100mph on a single-carriageway stretch of the A5 in Northamptonshire.

Wellingborough Magistrates Court heard 53-year-old Ian McSeveney was snapped by a Police mobile enforcement team at 106mph — 46mph over the 60mph limit — near Shenley farm entrance, Crick, in May 2019.

McSeveney, from The Green, Leire, near Lutterworth, pleaded guilty last February and was fined £1,384 when he appeared for sentencing last Monday.

He was also ordered to pay a £138 surcharge to fund victim services plus £85 costs and had six penalty points added to his licence.
