Road safety police have highlighted the number of offences they picked up during a recent road check in Northampton...and the level of abuse they received.

The Northamptonshire Police Safer Roads Team posted on Twitter that they had carried out enforcement outside Moulton Way fire station on Monday.

"35 Speeding 1 No seatbelt 1 No front number plate. I also had a lot of people heckling me. 'Get a real job', '******', 'Not essential work', 'Go home', 'Idiot' - all unneccesary and pointless because we will continue regardless," they tweeted.
