Officers from the Priority Area Team were called to Elizabeth Walk in Northampton at 3:30pm yesterday to respond to an alleged drug deal taking place.

Police did not locate the drugs, however, they did stop a man who happened to be wanted for failing to appear at court that very morning.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said that this man had only been wanted for an hour. He was due to appear in court in relation to a charge of theft from a shop. He was promptly arrested.
