Police quiz teenage boy over dangerous rock-throwing incidents in Daventry
A 13-year-old boy has been questioned in connection with a number of dangerous rock-throwing incidents in Daventry.
Young people have been causing alarm in the community by lobbing stones and rocks at moving vehicles.
The incidents have all taken place between January and March this year in a number of areas including Vicar Lane, Abbey Street, The Marches, Ashby Road and Admirals Way.
The damage caused to vehicles has included smashed windows, dents and cracks.
PCSO Tara Cooksammy said: “These incidents have rightly caused concern among the community in Daventry and I hope they are reassured by the fact we have had a young boy in to be questioned in connection with the incidents.
“The young people committing these acts of criminal damage may falsely think their actions are harmless. However, they’re not – not only are they causing damage to vehicles but they could also be responsible for causing a serious road traffic collision.
“I would encourage anyone who may have information about these incidents to contact us via 101, quoting incident number 21000124293.”
