A Northampton park was taped off by police yesterday as part of a planned police operation in search of drugs.

A section of Bradlaugh Fields, off Aintree Road, Parklands, was cordoned off for much of yesterday (April 16) with several Northamptonshire Police officers at the scene.

An eyewitness told the Chronicle & Echo there were several officers in white protective suits at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police has now confirmed the search was part of a planned operation, during which a quantity of drugs was found.
