A grave in Northampton's Towcester Road cemetery was vandalised by unknown persons last week.

Plants and trellis were placed on a grave at the cemetery by family members. The plants were then dug up and the soil smoothed back over and the trellis was also removed and thrown behind the gravestone between 10am on Tuesday, April 20 and Saturday, April 24.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: "The cemetery management confirmed they did not remove any of these items so it was reported to police as criminal damage.
