Police identify driver who fled from scene of two-vehicle collision in Northampton without providing details

A driver had to be tracked down by police after they fled a two-vehicle collision in Northampton without providing details.

The collision took place in St Andrew's Road in Semilong at around 3.45pm yesterday (March 11) and involved an orange Volkswagen Beetle and a blue Volkswagen Golf.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police said that the driver of the Golf left the scene before officers arrived but police have now identified them.

Police constable, Aaron Griffiths, tweeted: "I've stayed on to support the late shift for a few hours...#RTC involving two vehicles. When one party said they were going to call the Police as they were injured, the other party left the scene without providing details. Luckily we have his reg plate, letter on its way!"
