Police are hunting two teenagers who made "unwanted and upsetting sexual comments" to two 12-year-old girls in a Northampton beauty spot.

Officers revealed the girls fled and called 999 after being approached by the pair — believed to be around 15 — and are appealing for witnesses and information.

A Northamptonshire mPolice spokesman said: "This happened at around 6.15pm on Sunday, April 25, when the two 12-year-old girls were near a green bridge in Upton Country Park.

"Two teenage boys on push bikes approached them and made unwanted and upsetting sexual comments, before the girls ran away."

"The incident is being treated as a sexual offence, and officers want to hear from anyone who saw it or has information about it."

The bridge is located in the south of the park, close to the River Nene and the A5076.

Officers say both boys are described as white and aged around 15. One has short brown hair and wore a black t-shirt, black and white coat with fur on the hood, and black joggers — he was riding a neon orange bicycle.

The second suspect has short blonde hair, wearing a blue jumper with white stripes. He rode a black bicycle.
