Police investigating an assault on a teenage girl at a Northampton bus stop are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.

Officers revealed victim was approached by a gang of girls while standing at a bus stop near the petrol station Mereway Tesco at around 3.30pm last Wednesday.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "The victim was assaulted by two girls, causing swelling and marks to her head and neck.
