Police confirm they were called to a reported stabbing outside McDonald's in Northampton town centre

Northamptonshire Police have confirmed they were called to reports of a stabbing outside McDonalds at the Drapery in Northampton Town centre at 4.30pm earlier today (October 14).

The Chronicle & Echo reported earlier this evening that there was a large police presence outside the fast food outlet earlier today.

A spokesperson for McDonald's said: "We can confirm an incident took place this afternoon and we are assisting the police with their ongoing enquiries."

The East Midlands Ambulance Service received the 999 call at 4.35pm and a patient was taken from the scene of the incident to Northampton General Hospital.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: "Police were called to reports of a stabbing at the Drapery in Northampton just after 4.30pm this afternoon.
