Police catch 58 speeding motorists in 30mph zone in Northampton this morning

One driver was doing 48mph...even after driving past the police van

Traffic police out on patrol in Northampton on Saturday morning logged 58 speeding offences and one offence of not wearing wearing a seatbelt.

Officers from the Northants Safer Roads Team were in the 30mph section of Wellingborough road.

A statement issued on their Twitter account, @northants_SRT, said: "Enforcement carried out on Wellingborough Road in Northampton this morning. This has a 30mph limit but some people chose to ignore that. 58 speeding offences 1 no seatbelt offence Highest speed recorded was 48mph, having gone past the van! #SlowDown #Fatal4"
