Police cars and ambulance at scene of 'incident' at Northampton College's Booth Lane campus

A large number of police cars and an ambulance have been spotted outside Northampton College's Booth Lane campus this afternoon (February 10).

Eyewitnesses say they have seen the emergency services respond to an incident at around 3.50pm outside the St Gregory's Road entrance. A police cordon is also in place and part of the footpath from Grange Road into the college is closed.

A spokesperson for Northampton College said: "We can confirm an incident has taken place outside the St Gregory's Road entrance and we are assisting Northamptonshire Police with their investigations."

There is speculation as to the nature of the incident online, but nothing has been confirmed as yet.

A spokesperson for East Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called today at 15.52 hours to a medical emergency at Booth Lane in Northamptonshire. We sent two fast response cars and one ambulance, and transported one patient to Northampton General Hospital.”
