Officers were deployed to Wooldale Road in Northampton last night (January 25) to break up a snowball that was causing an obstruction to traffic.

Police were on the scene at around 9.30pm and, strangely enough, this was not the first time they were called out to do this.

That very same snowball was moved by officers the night before but, the next day, it was rolled out into the middle of the road again.

Officers, to prevent this from happening again, destroyed the snowball with plastic shovels.

PC Dave Lee, from the Northamptonshire safer roads team tweeted: “Evening all. The team were sent out to a small snow ball in the road. Second time in two nights at the same location.

“There won’t be a third for this snow ball now it’s broken up.”

Whilst those behind the traffic obstruction remain a mystery to police, we can only hope that this is the last we will see of the chaos-inducing snowball.
