Police arrest 55-year-old on suspicion of sexual assault in Northampton

Police have released a 55-year-old man pending further investigations following fresh appeals for information about a sex attack in Northampton earlier this month.

Detectives investigating claims a woman was attacked on July 6 revealed the man was arrested yesterday (Thursday) on suspicion of sexual assault .

Police issued their fresh appeal for witnesses early yesterday over a report the victim was groped and abused after getting off a bus in Obelisk Rise, Kingsthorpe.
