A teenage girl suffered a broken wrist after being bitten by a dog as she walked along a Northampton close.

The 17-year-old fell over after the dog -- a black, German Shepherd-type -- approached her in Stourhead Drive, East Hunsbury, and bit her finger causing a puncture wound.

Northamptonshire Police, who have issued a photograph of the dog, say the incident happened at around 2.30pm on Thursday March 12. Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to call them on 101 using incident number 20000140733."
