Northampton man pleads not guilty to breaking officer's finger while being arrested over string of violent offences
A Northampton man who allegedly broke a police officer's finger while they tried to arrest him has been charged with a number of violent offences.
Melih Buyukerzurum, of Alpha House, Broad Street, was arrested on August 16 in an incident where one officer reportedly sustained a broken finger and another was left with back injuries.

Hide AdThe 31-year-old appeared at Northampton Crown Court today (September 16) where he pleaded not guilty to of causing grievous bodily harm and four counts of violence between June 20 and August 16.
On June 20, Buyukezuru is accusedof wounding a man on St Andrews Street, damaging two of his mobile phones and stole his car before driving it without insurance. He was also charged with sending this man threatening messages via Snapchat.
And, on the day of his arrest on August 16, he allegedly assaulted three officers while using racial insults and threatening language, which reportedly led to one officer suffering a broken finger and another sustaining back injuries.
Buyukezurum was remanded into custody.
He has been arraigned on charges of wounding, car theft, threatening behaviour, assault, racially aggravated assault, and inuring three police officers while they arrested him.
