However, when officers arrived at the flat they realised the teenager had an outstanding warrant for reportedly stealing a television from a Northampton care home and told him they were going to handcuff him.
Northampton Crown Court heard today (June 24) how this was when the young man told officers "you don't care about me, you only want to arrest me" and jumped from his first-floor bedroom window to escape.
He was arrested soon after for resisting arrest.
The court heard how the young man was found guilty of stealing the television at a magistrates' court hearing in his absence.
The teenager was jailed for six weeks by her Honour Judge Rebecca Crane.
