Northampton man dies after crash between two cars

The crash happened on Sunday at around 5.15am on the westbound carriageway between the A603 at Cardington and the A6 at Elstow.

It is believed one of the vehicles involved, a silver Volkswagen Up, was travelling east on the same stretch of road before colliding with a white Mercedes Sprinter car transporter lorry.

The Northampton man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bedfordshire Police has launched an investigation into the cause of the collision and are appealing for anyone who saw the Volkswagen or the lorry prior to the incident, or witnessed the incident itself, to contact them on 101 with information quoting reference 74 of Sunday.
