Northampton man charged with rape over incident on New Year's Day appears in court

A date was set for when he will appear at crown court

Darlent Zirebwa has been charged with two counts of rape and one count of ABH.

A Northampton man has appeared in court charged with allegedly raping a woman on New year's Day.

Darlent Zirebwa, of Milton Street North, appeared at Northampton Magistrate's court yesterday (July 27) charged with two counts of rape and an additional count of assault against a woman.

All three counts against the 40-year-old reportedly relate to an incident on New Year's Day 2020.

Zirebwa was remanded into custody and will appear at Northampton Crown Court on August 28.
