Northampton man charged with drink driving after being stopped by police for having no insurance

A 27-year-old man has been charged with drink driving and driving without insurance after being stopped by police this morning (March 31).

This happened at around 5.50am when PC Scott found himself driving behind a black Peugeot 308 that was showing as uninsured.

The police constable, with the assistance of the Northants Armed Response Vehicle, stopped the uninsured car on the A45 near the Queen Eleanor where they furthermore found that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol.

PC Scott tweeted: "After, it took a very interesting route. @NorthantsARV assisted in stopping the vehicle. All was explained when it was found he was uninsured and drink driving providing a lowest sample of 57!"

Jordan Lee, 27, of Shedfield Way in East Hunsbury, Northampton, has since been charged with drink driving and driving without insurance in connection with the incident.
