Northampton man, 57, jailed for more than four years after pleading guilty to 11 child sex offences

A 57-year-old Northampton man has been jailed for more than four years, after he pleaded guilty to 11 child sex offences.

Darren James Wood pleaded guilty at a court hearing in November 2025 to six counts of indecent assault on a child, two counts of assault of a child by touching and three counts of sexual assault on a female.

The offences came to light in 2024 when the victims, now women, reported what had happened to Northamptonshire Police.

Lead investigator - Detective Constable Samuel Bennett said: “Although nothing can ever erase the awful experiences these women went through at the hands of Darren Wood, I hope the conclusion of this case provides them with a sense of justice.
