Northampton drug addict banned from contacting his father after threatening him with knife

Lea Sabin, aged 41, has been given an eight-month jail sentence after he admitted assaulting his stepmother and threatening his father with a knife.

Northampton Crown Court heard Sabin had been working with his father on October 8 last year when he became aggressive as they drove home.

Priyi Bakshi, prosecuting, said Sabin grabbed the wheel and caused the vehicle to veer on to a grass verge.

When the pair arrived back at the father’s address in Daventry, Sabin then grabbed a knife and told his dad he could “stick him with it”.

Sabin’s stepmother then came out to try to separate the pair, and he pushed her to the floor, causing her to bang her head.

Ms Bakshi said Sabin’s father and stepmother told police their son was a drug addict, and they had given him “so many chances” but they now did not want him to contact them again.

His Honour Judge Michael Fowler sentenced Sabin, of Far End, Northampton, to eight months in jail for possession of a bladed article and two months, to be served concurrently, for assault.

He was also given a three-year restraining order banning him from contacting his father and stepmother.
