A Northampton doctor and his wife have pleaded not guilty to using power of attorney to defraud his sister of £48,000.

Dr Colin Wilson and his partner Susan, both of Raynsford Road, Northampton, are accused of siphoning the money out of the bank accounts of Virginia Wilson over the course of seven months in 2017.

At Northampton Crown Court yesterday (January 20) - where the pair appeared over live video link from their home rather than attending in person - the couple pleaded not guilty to defrauding a total of £48,790.75.

The pair will appear at court for another hearing in three weeks on February 10.
