Men con their way into Northamptonshire house during distraction burglary
The distraction burglary took place between 2.10pm and 2.40pm yesterday (Thursday) in Margaret Avenue, Wellingborough.
A man knocked at the door of an elderly couple and told them there was a broken water pipe that needed to be checked.

Hide AdHe was allowed into the property to check the taps and while this was taking place another person entered the house and took money from a room upstairs.
The man who knocked at the door was white, of stocky build, with a round face, dark hair, clean shaven, and wore a grey zip-up jacket with a red/green logo on the left hand side.
There is no description of the second offender, other than being a man.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the Margaret Avenue area of Wellingborough yesterday afternoon and saw anything suspicious.
