A man has been stabbed in a Northampton neighbourhood after an incident involving 'up to five males'.

The incident happened in Prentice Court, Goldings yesterday (February 7) at around 8.20pm.

A 31-year-old man was stabbed and taken to hospital. Today (February 8) he remains in 'serious by stable' condition, according to Northamptonshire Police.

Detectives from the force are now appealing for witnesses following the incident which officers say involved 'up to five males'.

Police are particularly keen to hear from a male on a bicycle who may have witnessed the incident. This person is asked to come forward.
